  1. The full spec would be MIL-STD-883 class B or class S. Class A and class C were deleted many years ago; I don't see any 883/QS. Look up the manufacturer datasheet using this nomenclature to see what it means. Probably a commercial designation omitting some of the class B requirements.

Per section 1.2 and 2.0 of MIL-STD-883F, quality requirements are per Appendix A of

MIL-PRF-38535 - Integrated Circuits (Microcircuits) Manufacturing, General Specification For.

(Copies of these documents are available online at http://assist.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/ or www.dodssp.daps.mil or

from the Standardization Documents Order Desk, 700 Robbins Avenue, Building 4D, Philadelphia, PA 19111-5094.)

883 is a standard specifying standard test procedures for semiconductors.

MIL-M-38510 used to be the the matching document containing qualification requirements. This has apparently been replaced by 3 specs for dies, hybrids, and packaged semiconductors.

This document specifies 883 class B flow:

    Class S (space) flow:

MIL specs are readily available on-line instantly from many vendors, or pretty much free from the government, but it takes many months to receive, if they even ship them anymore.

  2. Those particular ones didn't show up in the search and I don't have any IC's handy to test but you can start here

    http://www.nssn.org/?source=google&adgro...

There are thousands of Mil Specs.  On IC's most have to do with the extended operating temperature range and perhaps radiation hardness.
