  1. I live in a north Dallas suburb.  The job market is very good here - compared to everywhere else:)  I heard on the news that more Fortune 500 companies are based in Dallas than any other city... and more large companies are relocating here all the time.  AT&T just announced moving their headquarters here (Pepsi/Snapple;  Countrywide;  Frito Lay, to name a few).  The housing market has actually held it's own, while other states have decreased as much as 50% (California).  The weather isn't that bad either.  Dallas isn't near the ocean, so it's nowhere as humid as Austin or Houston (or New Orleans or Florida);  it snows only once or twice a year (and that melts by afternoon);  It's hot in summer, but no worse than California .....  WELCOME!

  2. Well get ready for crazy weather. It's either really hot & humid or just really hot, or in winter a little cold. I live in the DFW area. I think there's plenty of jobs around here especially if you're a professional or have some kind of certificate or special training. I love Dallas. It's beautiful, there's tons to do, people are nice. San Antonio & Austin are gorgeous. Corpus Christi is cool too, that's where I grew up. Definitely just avoid anything in west Tx. It's pointless to even consider living there. I love Texas but I would love to live somewhere where there's actually all four seasons.

  3. 4. depends what part you're moving to.... i live in dallas/fort worth and i think that the job market around here isn't too good. granted i'm only 19 so i'm not looking for like something that pays 70K a year, but still. it IS pretty fun though, especially if you're 21, i mean Dallas is one of the biggest cities in the country, there's a lot of fun stuff to do.

    houston = good

    san antonio = so so

    austin = good

    denton = decent

    west tx = NO NO

  5. never been there sorry!

  6. Texas is a really good state to live in!

    and yes the jobs here are descent.:)

  7. Job market is pretty good here. People are friendly ( Ft Worth ) and the cost of living is pretty low. But the weather sucks. Hot summers, cold winters and the wind blows all the stinking time!

    Keep in mind, I moved here from San Diego, so I was spoiled to the max on weather. But I'm adapting.
