Depends on the medium. In air it's around 330 metres per second whereas in water it's a lot slower. Wikipedia is a great website for finding this stuff out really quickly, for future's sake.

770 mph at sea level   (about 5 secs per mile).  Depending on why you need to know this, sound travels faster through liquid & non-porous surfaces.

well it's 343 m/s..

as in the wave travels 343 meters in one second.. that is ofcourse in dry air..no wind or storm involved..
