Anybody remember the old style department stores in Belfast?

I remember C&A. I found one on a recent trip to Barcelona and got really excited lol. Always remember the clockhouse range!!!

You mean Anderson and McAuley or Robinson and Cleavers?  My granny always went there to buy hats.

anderson and mcauleys was a beautiful building i remember my last yr at school and me and my friends buying our art teacher perfume there we also used to go in and try on the wigs  as well!

yes remember those and also miss selfridge which was in Anderson and Macaulay's we used to go their on a Saturday to get made up for free !!

"Prices" on the Albertbridge Road/Castlereagh St traffic lights.

Had pull string system on rails to send the money to a central cashier.

Bought a small silk paracute !  must have been war surplus - kept me occupied for about 10 minutes. Used the bag it came in as a school bag.
