I still say Kimbo needs to try to move down to Light Heavyweight.Thompson gave him way too much trouble. And  he's fighting Brett Rogers next? He's basically a younger version of Kimbo, but I think that he's stronger and in better condition. I predict that Kimbo will lose that fight. I support him either way.

i wouldnt call it an intentional ddt as much as thompson getting caught in his arms and both falling down.. didnt seem to phase him much though, without a doubt in my if the fight went to a decision then kimbo would have lost, but of course the ref stopped it even though thompson was still up and wanting to fight... if you notice at the end of the fight thomson was still pumped up, and kimbo falls to the ground exaughsted.  kimbo is a decent brawler and a strong striker... but his groundwork is pathetic for the kind of competition hes in

congrats on being a new fan of mma, now what you should do is watch some UFC and WEC and learn some more about the sport, and see good mma fighters taking part in good mma organizations. Trust me once you get more familiar with the sport you will like watching the better fighters and realize that "fights" like kimbo vs james thompson are a joke. Either that or go back to watching wwe soap opera.

And to answer your question, no it wasnt a good move. He tried to get a guilitien (spell?) choke and failed miserable, partly because he didnt close gaurd when he tried and mostly because he has no idea what he's doing and no skill to do it. But thats all stuff you will learn if you decide to become a fan of real mma.

If it's the part of the fight I think you're talking about, Kimbo caught JT in a guillotine and pulled him down, but then forgot to close his guard so JT could escape - it was a bit of a rookie mistake really.

It was a guillotine that he tried to pull guard with, a "DDT" would be illegal as it would fall under the rule of no spiking your opponent on their head rule.

So no, not very good for a rookie or any other fighter.

First thing Kimbo is no rookie. Second it was a BS fight that was rigged and was told that it was basicaly rigged.  The promoter even said after Kimbo beat the living c**p out of the guy that he would bring them to the top.  Also he said you always have to put you best fighter aginst people you know he can beat.  Yeah if thats not a buch of BS then I dont know what is. He is a joke and he will not be a force in the MMA world.  He isnt even a second rate fighter hes the guy you train your chin with.  On a good note though maybe he will fight Mike and retire early when he looses.
