Anybody suggest any memorable all-star race moments this year?

we've been deluged all week with highlights from past races - including the "pass in the grass" in 1987, the 1993 first race under the lights with the petty/earnhardt/allison battle on the last lap, dw and dale taking each other out in 1995 giving gordon the win, junior's shining moment as the first rookie ever to win in 2000, and kurt and kyle showing their brotherly love in 2007.

other than the fact that kahne, the fan's choice (assuming he wasn't second and chosen because sadler didn't have a car that could compete), came from the back to the front to win on a great pit call, is there any moment you will remember from this year's all-star race itself - anything close to any of the memorable moments mentioned above?

and for all you busch-bashers, yes, we know, you'd like to watch them pushing his car back to the garage again and again, so don't bother wasting our time writing it yet one more time. you just can't take your eyes off him, can you?

  1. It seemed like all the drivers came to race clean, not the typical "wreckers or checkers" we've seen in previous years.  In all, there were a few highlights...I agree with the Busch crew bowing to the fans and DJ driving the truck...but as for the actual race, I think there were four things that stuck out in my mind:

    1.  Elliott Sadler, who had one of the best cars all weekend, was eliminated on lap two by AJ Allmendinger (who went on to win)

    2.  Sam Hornish Jr. raced his way into the show, hit the wall several times during the main event, and was one of the fastest cars at the end, finishing 7th

    3.  Two of the three JGR cars had engine problems, both were leading the race at the time it happened.

    4.  Carl Edwards was dominate, but opted to make no changes during the ten minute recess while everyone else did, and we see how far that got him.

  2. Not that the race was boring there were a couple of highlights.

#1 "The Bow" When Kyle and his crew took a bow that was classic.

#2 D.J. driving the big brown truck.

#3 The no inverting of the field.

    That ch summed it up.

Oh #4 A fan ????? voted in driver wins????

  3. I'd have to go with watching Dale Jarrett climb into and out of the UPS car for the last time.  It was very emotional for him!  Wish he would have been able to finish better, but great none the less!

  4. I agree with pacdog.

It's like asking "Who's your favorite driver?  But if your answer isn't the same as my favorite driver, don't bother to answer."

    Come on, buddy.  : )

  5. Funny, You ask a question about memorable moments of the race, then request that nobody comment on the two most memorable occurrences of the race. Must be why you don't have many answers.

ADD:    I hear ya 18 fan, I tried to give an answer but, I just couldn't think of anything else. FYI, though I don't like Kyle Bush, Seeing his car pushed away didn't do anything for me either. I would rather of seen him get beat with some good, hard and clean racing.

  6. Nothing comes near as close as what you mentioned above. It was a pretty uneventful race for the most part. Pretty much follow the leader lke these 1 1/2 tracks seem to be this year. After Kyle was out, at least we had some passing for the lead, though very little. If his engine wouldn't have blown, it would have been a very boring race, no passing at all, but at least you Busch fans would have gotten the ending you deserved.

  7. It was a very uneventful boring race.  No crashes, the leaders were WAY out ahead of everyone in the 4 quarters of the race.  The only thing you could say is Kasey Kahne in victory lane. Other than that nothing from this race was even close to what you stated above though.

  8. None

  9. Just your typical IROC Race.
