We are planning on taking our kids there and I was wondering if anybody else has been there and what they thought of it. I saw it on John and Kate plus 8 last night so i know that it travels.

  1. I took my son to it when he was two, and he loved it!  They had a conductor who looked like Sir Topham Hat, and the train ride was really cute.  I'd definitely recommend it.

  2. We took our kids on that in 2006 in Cumberland MD.  The train we rode as not nearly as nice as the one on J&K +8.  I'm sure it depends on what train station you go to and what trains they have available.  The ride was really short - about 20 minutes, maybe 30 and the view out the window was not the best... again, it can only be as good as the train track.

They had a lot of tents set up and some inflatable 'rides'.  Lots of places you could buy Thomas stuff of course.

It was an ok day   -  took us about 2 hours to get there for a half hour ride and some hot dogs.  2 hours to get back.  I would probably not do it again at that distance.

  3. My husband and I took my son there earlier this yeat (around June timeframe).  Thomas was in Strasburg, PA.  My son 2.5 years old loved it!!  Although it was very hot.  In Strasburg there were no bathrooms- just porta johns.  There was a ton of things to do and my son was busy for about 3 hours.  There are plenty of places to get snacks and have lunch.  There are also quite a few activities- it is more than just a 20 minute ride on Thomas.

Would I go again- probably not- once was enough!

    Have Fun!!
