1. So I'm bored and these are fun to do, so I thought I'd make a baseball survey.

  1. 1. Pass. lol

    2. Mets cause I grew up in the NYC area and couldn't root for the Yankees

    3.  Shea Stadium.  Mets vs. Reds in a doubleheader.  From what I remember it was great.

    6.  Of current players, Greg Maddux. He does his job quietly and efficiently.

    7.  First place as of right now, so yes.

    10.  All-time player?  Hmmm, that's tough.  Probably Tom Seaver, as a player. Not sure I'd like him personally.

  2. 1. Good idea. :) I used to do the same thing, but all my baseball surveys get reported.

    2. The Boston Red Sox. I don't exactly know how to explain "why." Other than friends and family, there's nothing I love more than the Red Sox. They're a huge part of my life.

    3. Fenway Park. I believe the Red Sox were playing the O's. After that game, I fell in love with the Red Sox and everything about them.

    4. 61* and Field of Dreams.

    5. Having awful seats. It kinda ruins the experience.

    6. Jason Varitek. The impact he has on a team is a lot more than what you see on the stat sheet. He's the captain for a reason. I have so much respect for his work ethic and leadership abilities.

    7. I'd rather them be in first place! lol.

    8. The New York Yankees.

    9. Catcher. It's such an important position, but I think it's a little overlooked.

    My favorite team is the cubs because i love the city of chicago i think it is beautiful and the cubs are the under dogs there.

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience?

    The first stadium i ever went to was safeco field. The mariners were my favorite team at the time. Yes it was an awesome experience!

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie?

    Probably sandlot. I love the womens professional baseball league but the movie a league of their own just didnt do it for me. :-(((

    5. What is your biggest pet peeve when going to a baseball game?

    Umm probably when people hurass the opposing team.

    6. Who is your favorite player and why?

    My favorite player is jennie finch i know she plays fastpitch but i think she is amazing! But if it had to be a baseball player it would probably be Sammy Sosa, i know that he did steroids but steroids dont make a great baseball player, skill, passion, and hard work do!

    7. Do you like how your team is doing this year?

    Yes i love how they are doing!!!!

    8. Who is your team's biggest rival?

    Probably either the cardinals or the white sox.

    9. If you played MLB, what position would you love to play?

    I would love to play third or i would like to catch.

    Bonus question- I think it is stupid the umpires need to make decisions without the help of technology.

  4. 2. The Cleveland Indians. I have grown up with this team. They are a great team and all the players are nice.(my opinion) I still remember my first indians games. we lost 11-0. I still fell in love with them though. It is really hard not to!

    3. Jacobs feild. I think it was Indians against..... white sox. Not sure though. Anyway, I was in aw of the stadium. I was so in aw i almost stepped in throw up. Thank god my mom pulled my out of the way. haha! I'll love jacobs feild forever!

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie? I really like feild of dreams. It is a funny movie! I also love it because it is a really great movie and a really good story.

    5. I really hate it when people on the opposing team are at a home game for you and they keep on cheering. Sometimes i want to tell them to shut up!

    6. I love Grady Sizemore. He is a fantastic player. He really knows how to hit a baseball! Haha! He is so kind, he is very dedicated to his fans and team. He trys every game. He knows he has to give it his all and he does every single game! I love him so much and i am so happy that he plays for the tribe!

    7. Nah. I'm not that disappointed. You shouldnt be mad at the team. The Indians lost 2 great players because of ingery. You cant blame them. They had really good games and then had not so good games. I dont mind. We WILL be better next year!

    8. I would have to say the white sox.. or the yankees. But probably the white sox because they are in our division

    9. Center feild. I would love to be right in the center, have tons of room to run and i think it is the best position to play. It would also be probably the best i could play.

    10. Umm... well... I havent known a lot of big baseball players because I am still young. I have seen videos of Mickey Mantle and he was a great player as I could tell.

    2. St. Louis Cardinals.  I have live in the St. Louis area all my life (almost 60 years)

    3. Old Old Busch Stadium   aka Sportman's Park on Grand Ave. & Dodier St.  July 12, 1958.  Wilmer "Viegar Bend"  Mizel pitched a shutout and the Cardinals beat the Pirates 2-0.  Cardinals starting nine that day

    3. the first "stadium" to watch a game was actually the Superdome in New Orleans. it was an exhibition game between the Cubs and the Twins.

    4. Rookie of the Year! The Rookie, Field of Dreams are my absolute favorites but i love all of them really.

    6. Ryan Theriot! He's a great ball player and he's from my home state!!

    2. Cardinals, my father has been a long time cardinal fan, he went to some of their world series games and their first nighter at old busch stadium.  I used to live in Kansas City, so he took me to royals games when the cardinals were in town, loved the team ever since.

    3. Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City to see the cardinals and royals.

    4. Field of Dreams, I never saw The Natural but thats my favorite baseball book.

    5. Expensive food and small seats, and im not a big guy.

    6. Yadier Molina, very underrated and he has done so much for our team.  He's a great leader and an all around great guy.

    7. Yes, they are playing with heart, its always great to see these young guys do so well, despite being picked for 5th in the division.

  12. 2.  The Dodgers.  I live in LA and I was raised a Dodgers fan.

    3.  The first stadium I ever went to was Dodger Stadium and they were playing the Giants.  The Dodgers won by the way!

    5.  I really get annoyed when the people around me pay more attention to a beach ball being passed around than the game itself.  

    6.  Russell Martin.  I like how he always plays really hard no matter what.  

    7.  Yes and No.  We're currently in second place by 2 games which isn't bad, but we just can't seem to get to first place.

    9.  Either catcher or shortstop.  Those are the positions I play in softball.

    11.  I don't like the idea of instant replay.  I think the umpires are more than capable of doing their job without it.

    2. What is your favorite team and why? -Oakland A's, home team, grew up as an A's fan, a team that trie sand never gives up even if they do bad

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience? -McAfee Coliseum. It was so long ago I don't remember who was playing against the A's. It was so exciting. I was little, so the stadium felt so big!

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie? -Angels in the Outfield, The Rookie, Bad News Bears

    5. What is your biggest pet peeve when going to a baseball game? -Annoying fans and bandwagoners, and when umpires make bad calls

    6. Who is your favorite player and why? -Ryan Sweeney, he's a great nice person. He has a lot of heart and dedication. Never gives up. Good at offense at defense. Has a lot of heart for baseball =]

    7. Do you like how your team is doing this year? -Nope =[

    8. Who is your team's biggest rival? -I would say the Angels

    9. If you played MLB, what position would you love to play? -Pitcher or 2nd base

    10. Who is your favorite all-time player? -Babe Ruth and Mays

    Bonus Question: How do you feel about the MLB instant replay they are going to start? -I think it will be useful, as long as they don't use it all the time =]

    Bonus: I think instant replay has no business in baseball, let alone any sport. Good or bad umps and refs are just another part of the game.

    Bonus: I guess its ok for homerun calls, but I'm really hoping it doesn't slow down the game or that start instant replay on any call. It screws up the flow of baseball, which is one of its best aspects




  18. 2. The Boston Red Sox. I grew up as a fan, in my household you would always see the sox vs. yanks games. it was always so much fun!

    3. Red Sox vs. O's it was a lot of fun and i really enjoed seeing all of the red sox fans!

    5. I really hate it when people start cussing out the teams when five- six year old kids are thier and can hear all thatthey are saying.

    6. Josh Hamilton He has had to battle so much. i really enjoyed watching his games and he is also a hometown favorite.

    ~Yeah, I like making and doing them in my free time, too.

    2. What is your favorite team and why?

    ~The Rangers, because they like each other and they believe in themselves; these guys never give up.

    ~The Orioles, because I was raised to root for them.  At the moment I'm just waiting while they're rebuilding; I keep an eye on Nick Markakis and Adam Jones because the team is going to be built around them.

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience?

    ~Camden Yards, I forget who the Orioles were playing.  I mean, come on, I was like, three or four!  But I kept going back, so I'm assuming I did like it!

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie?

    ~Field of Dreams and Angels in the Outfield.  Plus I want to see that movie The Perfect Game that's coming out. =)

    5. What is your biggest pet peeve when going to a baseball game?

    ~The guy in front of you that won't sit down or the girl that comes with her boyfriend and texts the whole game.

    6. Who is your favorite player and why?

    ~Current?  Currently Michael Young; he's just really consistent and a great team player.  I love Ian Kinsler too; he's had a great season so far (hopefully he'll be good to go soon).

    ~Retired it's Cal Ripken Jr.  He was the first baseball player I ever learned about.  Admittedly I said Cow instead of Cal... But hey, my parents knew what I was talking about.  Besides, 2,632.  Need I say more?

    7. Do you like how your team is doing this year?

    ~Not the Orioles, but I expected it.

    ~I love what the Rangers have done this year.  They're not in play-off contention, but they play hard and never give up.  I've had more fun watching them this season than I've ever had watching baseball.

    8. Who is your team's biggest rival?

    ~Orioles: Pretty much their division.  (Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, Rays)

    ~Rangers: Again, pretty much just their division. (Angels, Mariners, Athletics)

    9. If you played MLB, what position would you love to play?

    ~Second base; I don't know why.  It just appeals to me. =)

    10. Who is your favorite all-time player?

    ~Oh, I think I already answered this up on question 6.  Cal Ripken Jr.

  25. 2. What is your favorite team and why? - Minnesota Twins. I live in MN and a lot of my family watched them when I was younger, so I kind of got into it that way.

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience? - Metrodome! It was the White Sox vs. the Twins and I loved it. I don't remember what the score was, but I had a lot of fun!

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie? - The Natural.

    5. What is your biggest pet peeve when going to a baseball game? - When the people sitting behind me seem to talk about everything under the sun, EXCEPT what is happening on the field or the teams playing.

    6. Who is your favorite player and why? - Brian Roberts, because he plays the game the right way. I love watching him play and I think he is genuinely a great person.

    7. Do you like how your team is doing this year? - I love how they are doing! I didn't have the highest expectations for them this year, but they have really exceeded them! I hope we can continue our run into late September.

    8. Who is your team's biggest rival? - Chicago White Sox

    9. If you played MLB, what position would you love to play? - I'd most likely be suited for first base. =D

    10. Who is your favorite all-time player? - Kirby Puckett. Just an all-around great player and a great guy.

  26. 1. I'm not bored, but what the heck.

    2. Mariners. Been a fan since they started playing in 1977, used to fall asleep at night as a kid listening to games.

    3. First stadium was the Kingdome in 1992. The M's were playing the Blue Jays, the Jays were going to the world series so the stadium was packed with Canadians coming down from Vancouver (I was one of those Canadians)

    4. Field of Dreams, Bull Durham

    5. Pet peeve is the The Wave at stadiums. Sit down and watch the game!

    6. Greg Maddux. I love the cerebral stuff.

    7. I hate how the Mariners are doing this year.

    8. No real geographic rivals, had a good rivalry with the Yankees in the mid 90s. Now I guess it's the A's or Angels.

    10. Favourite all-time players are Hank Aaron and Tony Gwynn.

    7. Not really... they brought back Cito which helped ALOT... but they gotta fire Ricciardi... our pitching has been amazing so... meh it's been ok.. hopefully they make the playoffs!

  29. 2. What is your favorite team and why?   Detroit Tigers because I grew up in Michigan.

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience?  Tiger Stadium.  Detroit versus the Oakland A's.  I loved the experience and will never forget it.   This was in 1972 and both team were simply awesome ball clubs.

    Placido Polanco because he is a good solid player who doesn't make a jerk out of himself mouthing off.

    Post realignment I guess it would be the White Sox or maybe even Cleveland.  In the good old days of the A.L. East nothing was better than beating the Yankees.

    3. What was the first stadium you ever went to, and who was playing and did you like the experience? the first stadium i ever went to was actually Dodgers.. i don't remember at all who they were playing against.. i was about 8 or 9.. all i know is that they lost. :)

    4. What is your favorite baseball movie? Sandlot or A League of their Own

    5. What is your biggest pet peeve when going to a baseball game? fans who don't pay attention

    6. Who is your favorite player and why? oosh i have a lot.. Ken Griffey Jr, Torii Hunter. BOth very classy guys

    7. Do you like how your team is doing this year? yeah i'm pretty happy but they've been slumping lately

    8. Who is your team's biggest rival? hmm i think its either Oakland or Texas

    9. If you played MLB, what position would you love to play? i'd be a pitcher :)
