Anybody use a KBC brand Helmet?

Question

Are they any good? It seems like thats all they have in the shops near me. And before anyone says it I'm looking at Snell approved only so I'm more interested in quality and comfort, since Snell is giving me the safety already. Appreciate any info.

I have a KBC helmet and I like it! Its just the same as Arai and Shoei.. but less cheaper.  Theyre designs are pretty nice too..

yeah I have been wearing one for a year now good quailty helmet and you can not beat the price at $180.00 for a DOT and Snell approved helmet

I own a Scorpion EXO 1000, I was looking at the 400 and 700 and went with the 1000. Best streetbike helmet I have ever bought. Amazing amount of features for $300.

A DOT helmet isn't tested regularly. They are tested randomly. You can go to a gas station and get a DOT approved helmet. h**l my boss just bought a "DOT" sticker off ebay for $2 so he won't get hassled for his 1/2 face.

KBC makes a good helmet. They've scored well in many tests. Not the best, mind you, but in terms of bang for the buck, they're worth considering.

A comment about Snell-approved. Do some research and you'll find that Snell-approved is not the way to go. In multiple tests, Snell standards have been shown to be TOO high, in terms of energy absorption. To protect your head, the helmet needs to crush and deform as it absorbs the impact. Snell approved helmets tend to be too hard because their testing methodology is flawed. A DOT approved or European-spec ECE helmet is superior. Don't take my word for it: I urge you to read the entire article on the Motorcyclist website and judge for yourself. It's the first one under my Sources. Good luck in your search!

PS: I wear a Joe Rocket RKT 101 Carbon, which is made by HJC. Amazingly light, comfortable, quiet, great ventilation, shield lock, fast shield change system. A simply awesome helmet.

My missus and daughter both wear the modular KBC and love it.  I was impressed with their customer service, too.
