Question:

Anybody want to play in the NRL ??

As I posted some time ago, it would appear as if Greg Inglis will leave Australia and join the exodus of NRL players to Europe. If, as I am repeatedly told on this forum, the League is such a popular game and has a huge following, why can't it generate the money needed to keep the star players in Australia. I'll tell you why, the NRL is like an ostrich with its head in the sand, hoping the problems will go away, what a joke the game has become, tell you what, NRL can keep it's "international" status, the AFL will keep it's champion players!

Would the last NRL player to leave please turn out the lights!!!

  1. I'd rather have an international game like Rugby League so i can discuss the game and share it with the many millions of people overseas and in Australia rather than getting laughed at by Americans and Europeans every time AFL is mentioned.

Boohoo a couple players have left. 80+ Toyota Cup players have signed full time contracts to play in the NRL next year. Also, English international Gareth Ellis is playing for the Tigers next year which is a massive signing. You should do like an ostrich and shove your head in the sand.

  2. It amuses me how little people like yourself feel the need to bag rival codes all it does is shows the insecurities you have about your own code i.e. international games.

For what its worth i like and follow all codes.

As an NRL fan i do think there needs to be an overhaul of management in saying that there is no professional sport in australia (including AFL if it was played anywhere else but here) that can compete with dollars in Europe the population is to big in places like france it is unfortunate for the NRL that rugby is played in Europe but thats life. we need other ways other than money to attract players or have a top 30 List contracted to the NRL like the ACB do with Cricket.
