Would a Black Ghost Knife Fish (BGK) go with these fish?

• 2 Dwarf gouramis

• 2 Angelfish

• 2 Blue Rams

• 6 Peppered cory cats

• 6 Otos

• 1 Red-tail black shark

• 6 Black skirt tetras

I really love these fish but BGK's are awesome, will the BGK eat my other fish? Or will he get picked on? Or will he get too big for a 70-100 gallon tank? It's heated, aerated and filtered with two filters and two heaters, PLEASE ASNWER! Any suggestioins? Is this a good compatible selection?

  1. i would guess he would be fine with fish that are larger and won't pick on him!  and yes your tank size is more than fine!

  2. they get to be 12-15" and will take a lot of space. I would classify them as semi-aggressive and caution is required

  3. I think the ghost knife would be compatible in your tank.  They can get pretty big, but 75-100 gallons should be good.  I don't think one would eat your fish, I've kept a large ghost knife with catfish and small killies.  I never had a problem except one day he was really hungry and tried to eat a goby.  So as long as you keep the knife well fed, it should work just fine. Also, you don't have any tiny fish, so it wouldn't be able to fit any of your fish in its mouth.

  4. I've seen some Very Big knifes, so be careful with the tank size... He'll most likely eat your tetras, but the others should be fine.

  5. I'm not sure, but I don't think it would cope with any aggressive individuals.

  6. BGK will definitely eat the tetras. Otherwise, your tank size is fine. Good luck.
