  1. Like any government job, it improves with seniority.  From what I hear, the pensions aren't all that bad either.  Just be aware however, that in some areas, the USPS is slowly passing the torch to the private sector (i.e.- contractors).

  2. My grandmother's worked there for 30 years or so. It's hard work, but it pays well.

  3. Someone told me the Postal Service has the highest amount of employees that commit suicide.

  4. Put it this way; ever heard the phrase, "going postal?" people don't do that kind of stuff because they're happy.

  5. My wife did. as do in the past tense. if you go there as boss you're okay, if not forget it, if you don't have something else, then stay there until you get something else. if you are connected then stay forever. Don't mind being micromanage? you'll be fine. As for the rest.  good for the boss not the worker. you heard about postal worker coming back to shoot their boss. it because they work so hard and get fired for something else? this is one place which happen too often. old habit never dies.

  6. They have a reputation for going on spontaneous killing sprees, killing themselves, their coworkers, innocent bystanders, dying in a hail of bullets, foaming at the mouth, screaming incomprehensible profanity.  I don't know if that means anything.
