My son just turned 9 and was on HGH (Norditropin) for 2 1/2 years. Didn't work for him. I was wondering if there is anyone who has a similar situation w/ their child and is currently using the IGF1 shots on their child. I was told he will have to have a shot given 2 x's a day, am and pm, and glucose would have to be monitored as well. My son is 46 inches tall and 47 pounds. He was born 1 week past his due date and barely weighed 5 lbs. Other than his weight when he was born he was completely healthy and his APGAR scores were 9 and 9........that said, he has never, not even once, been on the growth charts! He is healthy, smart...no learning disabilities, reached all his mile stones on time and he acts just like every other 9 year old boy. His two younger brothers, 8 and 7, are taller than him and weigh more than him and they were both born at 36 weeks and 37 weeks. My pregnancies were better than text book all 3 times! Anyone else in a similar situation? Would love to chat!
