Anyone Chinese? What do you think of Chinese Fast Food?

I'm supposing its like the difference between A real burger and going to McDonald's. But I always imagined that the Chinese people who work in fast food Chinese places don't eat the food there. I always wondered what they fix at home, I probably want to eat that instead. Anyway, Tell me about it. ::eats a greasy sweet & sour chicken::

Well I am half filipino, have some chinese in my blood & I did taste the differences between real chinese food, and just fast new york chinese food. I rather choose the fast one though lol.

one of the waitresses at a local Chinese restaurant once told me that real Chinese food is nothing at all like Chinese fast food. she said that what we eat here in America has been "Americanized" to taste like the foods Americans are used to eating. she also said that true Chinese food is much healthier than what we eat and that what she cooks at home is completely different from what is served at the restaurant.

well, normally when we go out to eat chinese, we go to a buffet.

however, one night we didn't have the time for it so my mom got some and brought it home, and it was AMAZINNGG, better than buffet.

i think it's because on a buffet, they make stuff real fast so they have a lot to offer and they don't spend as much time on it and also it sits out all day :\

Well I'm not Chinese but if it is any help my indian friends say that Indian takeaways are nothing like real indian food and that they don't taste as good. I have also tried real Indian food at their houses and can guarantee there is a massive difference in the types of foods cooked and how they taste. I presume it will be the same for chinese.

Usually when I go to get Chinese, I get the buffet, but I haven't eaten Chinese in a few months because I had a VERY unpleasant experience the last time I ate it.  To keep the story short, there was definitely part of a chicken foot in my General Tso's Chicken.  I have four parakeets at home, so I know a bird toenail when I see one!  NASTY!
