Anyone Done An Experiment WIth Air??

This is VERY simple.

1  Cold air takes less space than hot air.

2  We know that since PV=nRT formula, by changing the T or temperature, PV has to change.

3  Take an empty bottle of Pepsi or 7up, the big one.

4  Put the cap on it and place it in your freezer for 15 minutes. Then take it out of the freezer at room temperature.

5  The bottle will collapse.  Since the plastic is not very rigid and the temperature in the bottle is less than the room temperature, the air in the room puts pressure on the bottle that the air in the bottle cannot counterbalance because the air in the bottle is colder.

6  The internal pressure on the interior of the bottle is less when the air is cold.
