Anyone Going on the Mariner of the Seas May 11?

Question

Anyone else going on Royal Carribean Mariner of the Seas May 11 from port canaveral????? This will be our first cruise if anyone has any tips they would also be greatly appreciated!!!THANKS!

I went on that ship last year and it was great. One thing you should definitely do is get tickets to the ice show, make sure to get them early. The tickets are free and go fast. I actually didn't get to see it and was a little disappointed as everyone raved about it. Not sure which itinerary you are doing but if you plan to shop and buy souvenirs Jamaica, and Cozumel are the cheapest ports for shopping. Grand Cayman is the most expensive. Also Labadee is privately leased by royal caribbean, so don't expect to see more than the beach. They have an artisan market with nice and cheap things, but prepare to bargain and expect everyone to approach you. They are very aggressive. Also carry a poncho with you. I went in May of last year and it poured raining in the Caymans. Some of the locals said May was there rainy season.

I would try cruisecritic.com you can find people and even talk to the different people going on that cruise! And if you sign up for a meet-and-mingle RC hosts a party for all the people who went on cruisecritic and you can get together with those people. RC is the BEST cruise line!! You chose right for your first cruise. RC's website is very helpful and they will also send you an information packet if you haven't already got it. RC has great staff and everyone is sooo nice and helpful!! We have made great friends from the ships. The kids area(adventure ocean) is a great! If you have kids they will love it. If not there are spas and certain areas just for adults! you'll love it! have a great time!!!

I'm also a fan of cruisecritic.  Go to RCI Roll Calls, and I'm sure you'll find people going.  

Seats for The Quest fill up fast.  We had late dining, and we didn't get to the ice rink (the venue they used) in time to get seats.  We saw the ice show and highly recommend it.  The Mariner is a beautiful ship!  We usually like balconies, but we barely used ours because we wanted to out and about the ship.  We wish we'd have gotten a Promenade or inside and saved the $$.
