Im planning a Royal Caribbean cruise for September, and I really don't understand how the drinks work, the regualr fountain drinks.. do have to pay for them at dinner? Or are they free with your meal? If you could tell me about the alcohol drinks also that would be great, the websites confuse me, so anyone that has been on the ships with any info would be great!!

  1. I have not been on the Liberty but I have been on the Freedom which is identical and on many other RC cruises.

The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (except the specialty restaurants), all shows and entertainment, and use of all facilities on ship. One of the things that you will have to pay for once you are on the ship is alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.  Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided free all of the time and with all meals,  but you must pay for all drinks (alcoholic beverages) and they will add a 15% gratuity to each alcoholic drink or soft drink order.   Soft drinks are $1.00 or $1.50 depending upon whether you order a canned soft drink or get a fountain soft drink, plus the 15% gratuity.  Beer and wine is $3.50 to $4.00, plus gratuity and mixed drinks like Margarita are $5.50 to $6.50 plus gratuity.  Top shelf call brands are much more ($8.00 plus gratuity).

You can buy a soft drink package at the beginning of the cruise (first day only) for $6.00 a day per person for adults and $4.00 per day per person for kids (17 and under);  both plus gratuity.  It allows the purchaser unlimited soft drinks for the duration on the cruise.

If you order beer, wine or a soft drink, or any alcoholic drink with dinner you pay the same as if its at a ship's bar or lounge.  Same if you go to the casino and/or the show room.

You can have all of the water in a glass that you want free but you must also pay for bottled water.
