Iv always been in to motorbikes ever since i was little. Iv always wanted to do sidecar road racing but im not old enough yet as im only 15. When im 16 in a few months i want to start grass track sidecar, but for now i would like to do trialing all my mates think im in the head and should find something more girly to do. and get over the fact of my family are not letting me have a bike. I dont know what to say to my friends or what to say to my family to get a bike does any one have any ideas

btw i would not say my friends re bullying me they just know i would get on any bike and not think about it and they are looking out for me more than anything, they just dont understand that momtor bikes are my life.

  1. so you want to go sidecar racing...EXCELLENT!!!!

there isn't enough people interested in it any more...they don't understand just how much fun it is to ride a "chair"

I raced sidecars for a short while before a work injury forced me out, but I loved every second of it.

As for what to tell your family and friends...

    to the family:

Tell them sidecars have 3 wheels and don't fall over like motorbikes do..DON'T tell them that they are harder to ride than motorcycles and when something goes wrong it hurts lots more....

    to your friends:

Tell them that sidecars are harder to ride than motorbikes and when something goes wrong it hurts lots more...DON'T tell them that sidecars have 3 wheels and don't fall over like motorbikes

Good Luck with it, and remember, once you turn 18 no one can stop you.

  2. My son and husband both race hare scrambles. My husband just started racing at the age of 34. It is something he has wanted to do his whole life. He only wishes he could have started at a younger age when the body is a little more youthful. So please family see her side of the situation. It could be something she can move forward with or something that she absolutely hates. BUt she needs the oppurtunity to try at a young age...

  3. girl or boy, many parents are against motorcycles...full stop...

mine were, but I still rode (and raced).

I know quite a few women who ride and got to get to race against one very fast female, (well, we were in the same race...anyway....she was faster, by a lot!).

I don't know what your options are as a 'junior', but soon you will be able to do whatever you want and ride and race whenever you please, regardless of parent's, and friend's wishes.

(you're just going to have to pay out of your own pocket)

if you don't, you'll regret not having tried.

when you do, just use some common sense and do it 'right'
