  1. American Psychological Associatin???? Oh American Pool Association....sorry can't help.

  2. yeah, I play in the 9 ball division, on Mondays and Tuesdays. I've also played in TAP for 8 Ball. APA is geared more towards your local players just looking for a good time. The big issue in our league is that the league opperator is horrible. Everyone is overrated or rated too low. This causes our players to do well locally but when they head out to regional action they get slaughterd. I'm only a 4, but I have seen it, our operator is completely clueless, and uses a different rating program than that of most APA territories. This causes a lot of animosity in league as the word "sandbagger" gets thrown around quite a lot. For the most part its a fun league, if you like playing its the way to go. Don't expect to be on ESPN any time soon, and make sure your team is built to have a good time and not to win. If everyone is there for fun the winning comes with it. Good luck!

  3. Was a member for 9-years. It was the first organized pool league I was a member of. Outside of having to keep and record innings (turns at the table) safeties, Non-performance shots, etc, the League itself wasn't bad. Professionals Larry Hubbard and Terry Bell ran the operation and did a great job of promoting. From what I understand it is world-wide now. Back in the 1980's the APA was in only 27 states when I played.

  4. I can't speak from personal experience about the APA, but many of my fellow BCA instructors are also members of APA leagues.  The rules differ somewhat from world-standardized rules and the ranking system is different also.  From what I hear, it's a very well structured league and is a lot of fun to be a part of.  Have a great time and good luck.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. There is a league that shoots out of our club the rules are slightly diff. but there a good org. And they have FUN doing it
