Anyone a video editor that will help me correct the Audio/video being out of sync in a wmv or mp4 codec?

I tried to convert a file to mp4 or wmv using various converters and the A/V keeps getting out of sync so it's not the converters fault since it converts other movies just fine. Therefore i have decided to convert it so the A/V is out of sync and then correct it so i can save the changes. Plz help best answer will be given
