Anyone a zone manager at wal mart ? is it good or bad?

I am a zone manager. If you value the time you spend with your family, do not apply for this position. It is a thankless hourly mid-management position where you are responsible for too many areas, have very little support in the way of personel, and have to endure a horrendous schedule that is constantly being changed at the store's convennience. The slight pay raise in no way justifies the amount of stress that you are placed under. I would venture to guess that at least 40% of the zone managers that took these promotions have either stepped down or quit. I for one have begun actively searching for another company to work for. This company is nowhere near the company Sam Walton started!
