I am hoping to backpack europe next september perhaps october. Where are the 'must see's' and the hidden special spots that you would recomend?

How much money will I need? Where should i be staying? hostels?

I am flying from Canada but wanting to finish in Australia, as that is my home country.

Any advise? Soem good websites perhaps, that would help me plan my trip?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  1. I have only spent a little time in Europe, but I am planning my Honeymoon and have been doing a little research. First of all, there are some GREAT books like Lonely Planet Europe on a Shoestring and The Rough Guide to Europe on a Budget (they are both pretty similar but there are things I like better about each). Both have hostels, cheap B&Bs and hotels in each country/key areas! Check out the site below for some of the info online.

As far as where to go, every city I've been to is amazing and has a ton to offer- though each is different. Figure out if you want more hiking/nature or   art/culture, etc and plan your trip accordingly. Either way, if you have not been you MUST visit Rome. It is truly the center of the modern world and amazing in every way.

And use credit cards where ever you can, you'll get the best exchange rate. ;)

    Hope that helps.

  2. See the fjords between Oslo and Bergen, ride the Cog train down to the bottom - to get there take the train there, stay in a campground halfway between the 2 cities cheap and fun
