Anyone been made redundant from their job?

Question

I've been made redundant from my job and will leave at the end of the month, which I am gutted about. Just want to know if anyone else is in the same position. Please state where you are from and what job you are having to leave. I'm an estate agent by the way.

I'm an estate agent and had to cut my days down to two a week, but I've since found another job which I enjoy for the other 3 days doing something completely different which I can do from home or from the office.  The aim is for the job I'm doing over the 3 days will expand and overtake the 2 days I'm still doing in agency.

Back in the late seventies and early eighties i was made redundant on ten yes TEN occasions.I was employed in the textile industry in lancashire and although i had the experience to go from one textile company to the next it soon became apparent that the industry was dying and it did leaving myself and thousands of others out of work much like the coal miners of the time.Since then i have had work for 15 of the last 18 years so do not worry all is not lost.  YET

i have been made redundant/sacked plenty of times but you just gotta pick yourself up and dust yourself down..and start all over..

I am now retired but was made redundant four times during my working life.  It is tough; the last time I was made redundant aged 57 but still managed to find another job because I was well qualified.  Good luck.

me too boo!! the care home i work in is closing in december.i love my job.i'm from perthshire scotland.

I was made redundant quite a while back. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Made me look for a another job rather than being stuck in the same rut.

Got a better job with almost 1.5 x the salary + the redundancy cash bought be a second hand car.
