I just received the pamphlet with the offer. I recently signed up with a new energy co. and this was a gift for doing so. The offer is "Your Getaway" vacation 3 days & 2 nights stay in a hotel of one of the destinations listed. Has anyone successfully done this? I searched online and have not been able to find anyone that successfully done so! I don't want to send them the $50.00 deposit until I find out if anyone has really done this and this is a genuine offer. I don't like the fact that everything is done through the mail. The deposit is to be mail along with a form and the refund is also sent back by mail, but the refund is to be requested!! All this just seems like too many forms involved and the first thing that comes to mind is that it will get lost in the mail.

  1.  Not quite 2 years ago (Sep 09) my wife and I went to Florida and the hotel we stayed at was provided by one of those vacation voucher company. Our voucher was originally for 2 days 1 night airfare and hotel. Well, our arrival was at like 10:00 pm...and departure was 2 days later at 6:15 am soooo...basically not worth the effort we thought. The company then offered us 4 nts paid at the hotel if we supplied our own airfare. We did and all in all it turned out very nicely.

We stayed at a Clarion hotel and after the taxes/processing fee we paid right at $100 total...so, essentially $25/nt for 4 nights.. Not a bad deal at all and the hotel was quite decent, a solid 3 star.

Basically many vouchers are of the "breakage" type which are designed to fustrate the cert holder so they don't follow through after the processing fee.

You will have to pay money, the trip is not free! But, if you follow the directions to the letter (read carefully and make a checklist if you need to) You'll get exactly what they said you will most of the time.
