  1. I cant answer about humans but I had a dog on prednisolone and the one thing the vet stressed was you cant just stop taking them. You have to go through a phase of lowering the dosage gradually over a period of weeks so maybe stopping them suddenly has caused some problems.

Best to see the doctor for proper advice.

  2. are they little pink tablets that you have to take in water??

    x

  3. im a staff nurse at a general hospital and pred, can be a very worrying drug, id take him straight to the docs if he is rubbing lower back as could be kidney prob, ive never known them to cause depression, whatever you do though do not stop quickly as this can have side effects, just go get checked out x

  4. It can cause some problems and it depends how much you have taken, one side-effect is what they call a moon face your face gets real round. It also packs the weight on you maybe that's why his back and shoulder hurts.

  5. Wow, long question. well i have been on Predisolone about 8 years ago when i was 18 for Crohns Disease. i suppose it depends why this person is on it?? the lower back pain is explainable, especially if he spends alot of time doubled up in pain, and the depression may be caused by either the thought of the illness, or the drug itself, thinking back it was a pretty depressing time for me, whether that was the drug or the condition is debatable?  if he is taking the drug for a digestive related issue then there are so many side effects possible, seeing as the gut controlls alot of other human condition, and has a very very strong link with well being as a hole, including bone pain and spells of depression. i dont really know if i have helped, proberly not? good luck.
