  1. The tour itself is very interesting. The guide has lots of stories to tell although I thought that more detail on the actual history of the ghosts would have been more interesting and the walk through the graveyard is good. Best to take the tour as late as possible to get the full effect when in the graveyard.

Most people enjoy the the experience.

  2. Is that the walking tour that goes to "haunted" places?  I did one of those, in 1999, and I really liked it.  It was fun, spooky, educational, and it ended up in a pub.

  3. No, but my advice is save up your tips and get your skinny wee @ss out into the sunshine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marbella

  4. Now, it must be said I was not happy to be dragged on ghost tour after ghost tour of the fair city of Edinburgh by my overly excitable and ghost obsessive friend, Louise. When she suggested City of the Dead after a day of the Vaults *Yawn*, Mary Kings Close *Cool enough but Yawn*, and the Castle *would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't hurried around by Louise!*, I had no interest in another tour! However after the bribery of the pub and her supplying the drinks I was warming to the idea, of course her agreeing to a blissful day of shopping on Prince’s Street the following day had nothing to do with my change of heart.

Meeting outside St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile we were met by the friendly guide (apologies, I forget her name!) and waited with the growing number of eager tourists. In fear of ruining this fantastic tour for those who intend to go on it I will not go into detail of what the tour entails, but I will say the story telling was captivating, a good mixture of historic, funny and ghostly tales set by the dramatic sky line of night time Edinburgh!! And a truly terrifying ending!!!

So thank you City of The Dead for a wonderful time! Thank you Louise for making sure I didn’t miss out on such a tour and thank you to the Greyfriar’s Bobby Inn for having the much needed stiff drink after the tour!
