Anyone been to Boundary Waters?

It's a camp in Minnesota, does anyone know anything about it? I heard it was rough, and my boyfriend is going there for three weeks for an ecology class. Am i going to be able to talk to him, and how risky is it there?

We spent time in that area in 2007.  It is rough in some areas but most camps have running water, toilets, shelter, etc.  Not too risky as long as you watch yourself.  There are bear in the area but they are more afrade of you than you are of them.  Lots of bugs to bite you but deet will help that.  Cell phones do not work in most areas but you should be able to make it three weeks.

I went to the Boundary Waters twice, in 2000 and 2003. It was a great trip; paddling 77 miles in a week. Great scenery. There are videos that any number of groups could send you. Good canoeing and the portaging was not that bad.
