  1. I was there twice last week and will be going again next week. I live pretty close to Nerja.

Nerja is a beautiful town. It has great beaches especially Burriana beach which is a favourite with the tourists. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and chiringuitos in that area.

October isn´t considered off season but it is quiter than the summer months. You will love looking out over the Balcon de Europe. There are loads of restaurants and tapas bars in the area to soak up the atmoshere. Please take the opportunity of visiting some of the white villages in the mountains behind Nerja. You can start at the nearest which is Frigilillana. This village is thought to be the prettiest in Andalucia. There is also the caves at nearby Maro. They are very interesting so make sure you go.

Nerja has retained much of the charm of a Spanish town. Other big resorts lost that as they grew but you will love Nerja.

  2. It is quite a small place and out of season I found it rather quiet. There are a few bars etc at the eastern end of the foreshore. If there are any serious nightspots I did not see them.  It's more Hunstanton than Margate.

  3. I went there once but only on a day trip from Benalmadena. I enjoyed the day there but not sure what the night life was like. I really liked the "balcony of Europe" where you can look out across the see and see North Africa.

Whatever, I hope you enjoy your time there.

  4. be careful - your wife will have an affair there

she will say to her mum "how did he find out?"

and her mum will say "darren nerja"

    lmao

  5. Yes!! I live in Costa del Sol, so I know the place. Nerja is a lovely place to visit. It is quite tiny, you know, typical Andalucian town! It has a very famous cave! without a doubt the visit is worth it! I think that from time to time even concerts are hold there! There is also a nice place to visit, called "El Balcón de Europa" ( Europe's Balcony) with great views! Also the beaches are nice, some of them are tiny and isolated, so not many tourists and even less in October. The good thing is that maybe you are lucky and we still have a good weather here so you can go to the beach, if the weather is not that good, enjoy the beach in a quiet way ( going for a walk early in the morning or late in the evening can be very relaxing). I don't know for how long you are going to stay here. If you have enough time, you don't have much to do in Nerja, and you have a car available visit Málaga, the Axarquía and also the more touristic places like Benalmádena, Mijas or Fuengirola.

If you want to find out more about what to do, or you want some more info about Costa del Sol I would recommend you to visit the following site: www.surinenglish.com ( it is a local English newspaper). Have a nice time in Nerja!

    P.S. Also great restaurants there.

  9. theres some caves there that are unmissable but i missed them. but they are well worth a visit i was told. everyone seems to stroll around doing not very much and just relaxing and eating. its a nice town with a beach and lots of bars. you could get a bus to somewhere else like puerto benus  for a day. have a nice time
