  1. I JUST got back from PV and absolutely loved it.

Do you have your hotel reservations set? I highly recommend staying in a villa, but understand that's not for everyone. Check out http://www.boutiquevillas.com for some nice local villas.

For fun things to do, I recommend checking out Vallarta Adventures (http://www.vallarta-adventures.com ). We took two cruises - the "Rhythms of the Night" sunset cruise to Las Caletas and the snorkeling cruise to Majahuitas and Yelapa. BOTH were amazing and so much fun. The locations were beautiful, the excursions fun, and the crew for both cruises were GREAT - fun, fun guys.

We also did a canopy tour / ziplining which was huge fun I've ever had in my life. Maybe not for the feint of heart though. Check out the website: http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/inde...

The central part of Vallarta (the old town) is nice.  The malecon (boardwalk) is beautiful to stroll along.  There's plenty of galleries and nice restaurants and lots of shops.  There's a flea market where you can peruse a lot of wares.

On the whole I loved it and highly recommend it.  Drop me a line if you have other questions - will be happy to answer since it's all I've been thinking about since I got back.  :)

  2. Yes and it is great.Love old town and the malecon. My advice is stay at an all inclusive, everything is included, transportation to and from airport, food and drinks. The RUI is nice .Satiria6 gave plenty of info. Check out some web sites. One more thing if you go try dinner before sunset at Le Set. Take a taxi,it is beautiful. This is where Elizabeth Taylor filmed Night of the Iguna.

  3. It is difficult tho answer your question since the costs in Puerto Vallarta vary with the season. When do you want to go? Do you want a condo, a room, or room with with a kitchen? Do you want to be on the beach? Do you want to be in town or out of town? Do you want to be pampered at an all-inclusive or do you want to enjoy the vibrant night life and great restaurants? You can go to PV and never see much of Mexico or mingle with the locals. There are all kinds of tours to go on, from whale watching to climbing up into the jungle canopy. You can play golf or go 4-wheeling. You can sit on the beach and do nothing. You have to decide what you want and when you want to do it. PV is like paradise, and it can be your own personal paradise.

  4. My family has condos in PV and I'v been going for the past 6 years.  I always go for 2 weeks in January every year because the weather then is AWESOME!  Probably like 79-95 degrees.  Expect to pay for food and drinks about the same as what you would pay here.  I'm not sure about hotel prices, as I've never stayed in one there, but I've heard they're not too expensive.  The best resuraunts are Trio (super dressy), Le Kliff, Daquari *****, Le Set...etc  And the most fun bars/clubs that I've been to are The Roxy, Carlos O'Briens, Senor Frogs & Hilo... Everyone always goes to The Zoo too but it's always sooo crowded and there's nothing but 18 year olds runnin around that place.

  5. The first time I went to PV....20 years ago.......you could get 3 coronas and a shot of tequila for a US dollar.....not so anymore....the price in PV are almost the same as the US....its hard to find a $4.50 burger anymore........just got back last week......going for a month next year.  Love PV it used to be an inexpensive vacation.....but not any more......
