Anyone been to marsa matrouh, egypt?

going there for week in august anyone been there? what is there to do? and how is weather? thanks

Marsa Matrouh is one of the most beautiful beaches on the North Coast.  There are many places to visit and there is a great variety of beaches like Rommel beach, Cloepatra beach and Agiba beach with the famous Agiba Mount.  The water there is incredible, so blue, so clean, so refreshing. And the view is breath taking. Matruh the city is improving every year.  The traffic rules there are very strict and the shops there offer a variety of imported goods.  There is also the famous Lybia Souk where you can find many imported goods like kitchen utensils and electric appliances and soaps/creams/shampoos.  There is also the Chinese Souk where you will find all sorts of Chinese goods as well as a lot of feminine underwear of all sorts. There is also a variety of restaurants and take away shops that offer the traditional summer resort food like feteer and pizza.  New in Matrouh is the opening of fast food chains like Pizza Hut and the like. Enjoy your time and remember that if you need a doctor there the best thing to do is go to the military hospital which is very close to the governorate building by the corniche.  It is the best place to get medical attention and it accepts civilians.  The weather there is fine as long as you are by the sea shore.  Anywhere else will be hot and humid.  Sometimes by night it is cool and might need a jacket.

I was there on 26/6 (June) at that time the weather was always cool it was not very crowded by then but i don't guarantee  u will get the same result in august as the weather will be much hotter.

yes, and it is sooo beautifull, august is the best time because people are done vacationing usually most people go in july when the weather is hot and they have just finished schools. but there will still be some people just not as much, you can swimm (duh) shop around at night, and there are some famous areas over there too!! enjoy the beach.
