  1. i'm from romania. my name is ovidiu. the capital of romania is bucharest. i live here. titaovidiu@yahoo.com ask whatever you want.

i think you should visit bucharest or bucuresti in romanian cause is the biggest city and well is the capital.

then if you like dracula you can go to brasov whitch is a beautiful city between the mountains. near tha city you will find the dracula castle - bran castle. i have a house there i use it when i go on vacation.

if you wanna go to the seaside go to constanza. it is the biggest city from the black sea area.

there is timisoara also a beautiful city. it depends what you wanna sea. if i wear a tourist i wouldn't go to a big city cause this are everywhere. i would go to see the wild somewhere in the mountains. in romania there are more wolfs than any country in europe. whatever you do avoid the gipsies! they origunally came from asia or something a couple of hundreands years ago and seattle here. they are legally romanian but no one thinks that. we avoid them. most of them live here like they do in any other cowntry cause they are poor and they go everywhere to steal.

the perception of people depends. if you go to a gipsy village they will all get around you and ask for money. if you came to bucharest nobody will be surprised i think.

i don't think you will find the prices hight. hope you will enjoy. most of the people speak english.

  2. Check some online guides, like the one below.

  3. Well, it all depends on what you interests are. For cities I would suggest: Bucharest and around Brasov area.

  4. Hello

    I am a romanian girl

    1) Cities? CLUJ, BRASOV, ORADEA, any other in Moldav region- u'd be dissap of Bucharest.. diritiest capital of Europe

    2) rent instead a hotel ... otherwise u risk to be "fooled"

    3) ppl are VEEEEEEEEEERY nice and hospitable

  5. i think that http://www.romaniatourism.com/ is the best website because it tells you everything you need to know about a trip to romania

  6. If you are driving on E60, my hometown of Oradea is a nice first taste of Romania that is 10 km east of the border with Hungary.  There is a nice downtown with many lovely Hapsburg era buildings including the teatru de stat "state theatre", fabulous thermal baths at Baile Felix and Baile 1 Mai and a nice shopping area (Calea Republicii).  As you head on, Cluj is a large city with many lovely mountains around it, but some of the most beautiful scenery is off the beaten path in the Caprathians.  A lovely little place called Coada Lacului comes to mind for beautiful natural scenery.  The cities of Brasov, Sighisoara and Sibiu are very good to visit for their historical value.  Sibiu was the EU's cultural capital for 2007, which is a great honor.  One of my favorite cities that is off the beaten path is Tecuci.  It is a relatively small, antiquated city with an absolutely incredible city square with lush rose gardens and a variety of beautiful tropical parrots.  It is in the heart of Romania's greenhouse and agricultural zones, so it is a welcome escape from the baking heat of the car.  Bucuresti is a must see cosmopolitan city with the Casa Poporului, which is the 2nd largest building in the world and definitely a fun nightlife and atmosphere, but at the end of your trip, you should definitely go to Constanta and the beach resorts of Costinesti, Mamaia, Neptun, Eforie Nord, etc...  There are lots of beaches and restaurants, watersports, beautiful people working on their tan and concerts and clubs with music all night long.  Hotels are quite spendy for the quality you get since many still provide communist era amenities, so sometimes it's better just to rent a private room if you are just traveling through a place and not spending a lot of time there.  I would suggest getting a hotel room at the seaside though.  The room with a view of the beautiful Black Sea makes it worth the money.  Most people are pretty good about welcoming foreigners but not everyone speaks english.  As long as you are polite to them, they will definitely be polite and helpful to you
