Well...I feel like I have to defend myself everytime I tell someone I am going to a resort in Jamaica. People are telling me that it is dangerous, etc...What do you guys think? Is it a good destination for my fiance and I or should we choose somewhere else?!?!

  1. Dirty, slow.

Take a honeymoon in the states or British islands

  2. I will recomend it, it's a nice place to stay.

  3. LB.......you need to get a life......Skrobins,Jamaica is one of the most beautiful place on earth, I never been to Rui Negril, but i can tell you this Negrill is beautiful, you will see the sun set,and there are lots of water sports to do,you can take a trip to Ochi Rios, are even visit James Bond Beach.I've been to Ja last August and it brilliant.Just to let you know there are worst place than Jamaica, places like Haiti,Pakistan, and some countries in Africa. When you go on your honeymoon, just laid back and let the Jamaican spirt take you away,Ful-joy the beaches, the nite life and yes....the cocktails and rum punches......Visit Margaretta Ville.Yes there's is crimes, but here in London you have stabbings, shootings and murder.I live in London and i don't feel safe, but when i go to Ja i man, I feel so safe, cause everyone just smile at you,and chatting to you.......JA is the best plc for me....going to Starfish Trelawny next month.....

  4. i live in jamaica and its just like any other country only that we have some of the best beaches in the world. It has it violence just like America or any other country. I think Sandals is the best honeymoon location i n Jamaica or the Ritz Carlton

  6. Well, I just booked today to go to that resort with my husband for our anniversary and 50th birthday.  I heard great things about the resort from my travel agent. She been to that resort and many other around there. She actually been to Jamaica over 20 times. It's her favorite.  We are going on April 6th so I will be happy to email you what we thought of it when we get back.

  7. Please don't listen to the people who say  stuff like that. Jamaica and Negril are absolutely beautiful. I travel to Negril frequently and feel very safe every time. I take the same precautions there as I do any city in the US. The people who are typically saying that have never been. Many people also get their impression of Jamaica from a cruise stop over. Which means they get to see MO Bay or Ocho Rios. Both are nice but they have people who know when the boats get in and thats how they make their $$. From selling their wares and such.

Please check out Trip Advisor and http://www.negrilinfo.com

Both will give you more information.

The RIU is a very nice hotel. I stayed there for a few days last August. I got a great deal. Very quiet in Negril in August. But I love Negril no matter what time of year.

    Good Luck!

  8. the Riu is on Bloody Bay... a very nice place and a very good value. Negril is relatively safe and the AIs there are perfectly safe. Don't do anything grossly stupid and you'll be fine... in reality you'll probably never leave the resort except for maybe a trip to Rick's to watch the cliff divers (or to dive yourself).
