Anyone buy a condo in Mexico?

Can anyone explain the current requirements for a US citizen to buy property in Mexico? Years ago, there was a requirement to use a Mexican bank and large down payment of 50% + to purchase. Has this changed?

  1. Yes, you have to be a citizen, or at least have a citizen share ownership with you.
