Anyone can give me a fair idea about Abudhabi housing?

My husband is offered a job in Abu dhabi. The package is quite good. The housing allowance is 220k/year. Only problem is We are not getting any decent place( preferably apartment) in that price.

At present we are in Dubai in a new building with underground parking, gym, swimming pool etc.

now my question : is there any chance of getting any 2br apartments in abudhabi preferably in a new building with all the facilities etc in this budget?

Also if we decide to stay in Dubai and commute everyday to abudhabi what would be the most convenient place to live if my husband has to work in the area called between the bridges in abudhabi. How long is the commute?

Thanks in advance.

  1. That is a decent amount for rent. yes you will get a 2 bedroom in a building that has pool etc. We were in the same dilemma about 6 months ago. We are paying 200K for a HUGE 3 bedroom, separate living, separate dining, separate family rooms with an enclosed garden area right in the heart of Khalidia. Close to everything, walking distance to my son's school ACS. But i don't think there are any more available. I guess you have tried contacting the agents in the newspaper. The little 3 line ads is where I found this one. Please don't have your husband commute as it is very dangerous to drive everyday. The journey to between the bridges would take about 1 hr 15 mins if you live in Dubai Marina area. You will be glad you left that h**l hole Dubai. We love it here, although we missed dubai initially, as we lived there for 10 years. Check the building on Zayed the 1st street (prestige car showroom). Nice duplex apartments if you don't have a lot of furniture. If you need more help email me and I will ask around. khalifa city would be ideal for you to stay

  2. Hi Marry,

I answered very often already that getting a place in Abu Dhabi might be more headache then affording it.

Well, with this kind of housing allowance your problem should be solved sooner or later. Just to give you an idea:

4 bedroom apartment at Emirates Tower on Hamdan = Dhs 150K,

4 bedroom apartment at Peugeot Building on Salam = Dhs 150K,

3 bedroom apartment at Honda Showroom on Electra = Dhs 150K,

    2 bedroom at Khalidya near Spinney's = Dhs 100K,

Huge 7 bedroom villa incl. 2 big kitchen at Khalifa city = Dhs 180K

nice 2 bedroom apartment at 30st street in a Villa incl. a nice roof terrasse = Dhs 150 - 180K*

Huge 7 bedroom villa incl. 2 big kitchen at Khalifa city = Dhs 180K

very nice 2 bedroom appartment in villa with a very big roof terrasse in Al Raba = Dhs 50K

Your husband not working in Abu Dhabi City, look for places at Kahlifa City, Officer's City, Al Raha and Al Raba. Here you will find many big villas which were remodeled to 2, 3 bedroom apartments.

*tendants of this apartment are ready to vacate. Are you interested? A friend of mine has an apartment in this villa and told me about the vacancy because they were thinking to move upstairs, but they won't. I just called her and if interested I let you know the name of the owner.

    Take care.
