Anyone care to comment on this poem about broken love?

Question

Got Any Glue?

With eyes wide shut

I thought I knew you;

with heart wide open

I let myself fall.

But I lost starry eyed

innocence

to the years

along with hope;

youthful dreams.

We tried it all; but

everything was too small

to conquer such a big mistake.

So you go your way

and I’ll go mine.

Somewhere in this world

there are two others

just as lost,

picking up broken pieces,

trying to find the right stuff;

the right person

to put their lives

back together again.

it was very well written. and made a lot of sense with a meaning that everyone who has lost love could understand.

There is always loss in love.  I like the way you expressed the loss in this poem and I especially like the ideas and emotions expressed in the last stanza.

Joy and sorrow walk hand in hand, and love looks on in wonder why? Yet, I think finding the joy is on the inside, not

out side through some one else.

yet what you say is what people do look for.
