Anyone clued up on chelmsford essex??

Question

we are traveling from jersey channel islands to the V festival on sat 16th aug to go to the festival sunday. it was spur of the moment and we havnt got a clue about traveling on trains or tubes. we dunno wat airport is closest as we cant fly to stansted. we also hav no were to stay as all hotels are booked up on that weekend within a 17 mile radius!!! and cant camp cos we havnt got weekend tickets!! help!!! any answers would be apreciated

Fly into Gatwick or heathrow & get either the tube to Epping - it's about 20 miles or so to Chelmsford, so cabs are going to be pricey - but...

The closest airport is London Southend and you can get there with Flybe. You should also be able to find somewhere to stay in Southend without any problem. There are buses from Southend to Chelmsford or you can get the train from Southend Victoria station & then a connection at Shenfield. Have a great time!
