I don't think they are any different. the science of boxing hasn't changed all that much if at all. gloves and wraps were introduced into boxing in order to protect the boxer's hands. now we have different size gloves for different weight classes so the fights will last longer. if you wanna find a gym in your area go to amateurboxing.com and email melain ley and she will tell you of a gym near you
