  1. have fun. There is always a lot to do. The fees are for, soda package, beer, cocktails, and the specality resturant. Plus, if you buy something in the stores there is a charge. Have a great time, I did.

  2. I've been on several RCI cruises. I absolutely love cruises. Most of the food is included and non alcoholic drinks except sodas are included. On select ships you will have a restaraunt such as Johnny Rockets that you have to pay a 3.50 nominal p/p fee and Portofino's, Chops which is 20.00 p/p. You can elect to purchase a "Coke" card which is about 6 dollars a day, but unless you are really addicted to coke's, don't waste your money... they tend to be very watered down.

Gratuities can be prepaid as well.. Stay away from the mini bar in your stateroom as well. Carnival is more of the "party ship", but I never could get into that. You will find with Royal Caribbean that the service is excellent. If you are going on a much larger ship such as Freedom, Mariner, Voyager or Indepence of the seas, there is much more to do. There is iceskating rinks, many clubs and bars, mini golf, lots of pool areas, and a flowrider surfer. Go and have fun! Check out http://www.royalcaribbean.com  to view each ship and its virtual tour and floor plan.

  3. I'm not really fond of cursing because I'm not really enjoying that movie "Titanic"

I did love it however but I don't want me seeing it do to myself

I want to eat white food

    And meeting new people

    But yea(:

  4. I've done 2 RC and 1 Carnival.  I feel RC is way better than Carnival.  I prefer the food, ship and activities.  Food is included (even room service).  All ships I have been on have had 1 or 2 restaurants that you had to pay to eat at.  Why anyone did this I don't know.  They will have the regular dining area, pizzeria, sandwich shop, hot dog & burger place, room service, and buffet to eat at all day for free.  Plus ice cream.  Activities on the boat should all be free, except casino and bingo.  There will be a salon and you pay if you get a message, pedicure, hair cut...   There are shops to shop at and drinks to buy.  They do offer a pop sticker.  It seems like it was $10 and you got all the soda you wanted.  You will have to tip at the end of the cruise, I would plan on around $100 per person and that will be more than enough.  I would tip the guy bringing you room service and any people carrying the bags.  If you do any excursions, you will have to pay for them.  You will have a great time!

  5. Sure millions of people have cruised RCL.  Loved it.  Good for any age group, infants to seniors!  What are you referring to as hidden charges, you can spend as little or as much as you want on board.  Beer, wine, and mixed drinks are extra.  You only pay for food if you go to one of the specialty (sp?) restaurants.

RCL is great at marketing extras!

  6. I cruised on RCL almost 2 yrs ago. It was good -- the solarium & rock wall were great. Having previously cruised with Celebrity, the food was a little disappointing -- but I think that is because the food on Celebrity is pretty much unmatched by most other "affordable" lines. (People who had never cruised on Celebrity were very impressed with the food.)

The service is great, the ships are clean & the excursions appeal to a wide variety of interests (and budgets).

RCL seems to cater to an "active" crowd. Ice skating rinks, rock walls, mini golf, etc.  They offer a program whereby you can "earn" points by participating in various physical activities (ie: walking track, going to the gym / taking classes at the gym). The points can then be redeemed for RCL merchandise.

Food was free (except in the specialty restaurants). Gratuities can be charged automatically to your credit card. Soda will cost you, as will alcoholic beverages.  (We took some bottled water on board with us, so we wouldn't have to buy it at the various ports for lots of $$$.)

If you aren't a big drinker or gambler, you can cruise for little more than you paid for your ticket.

    Have fun on your cruise!!

  7. See my question asking for address to complain to Royal Caribbean. DO NOT go on Sovereign of the Seas IF you go with them.  R. C. do not put an address on their web site that I can find.

  8. I have been on both Carnival and RCL. I prefer Carnival but I am sure you will have fun on RCL.The nightlife, service and food were far superior on Carnival. We were a party of 10, with 5 rooms and each room had sewer and A/C issues. The Viking Crown lounge was practically empty by 11p and the ship looked like it rolled up the sidewalks after 10p. I have been on 7 cruises and love it. I have travled with both friends and family. Have fun which ever you choose and have a great time
