I am healthy as can be. But the company through AAA says they won't give me life insurance because they couldn't find enough information on my hospital stay when I had my baby. It was a normal delivery. But they won't budge and of course I don't have the records.

  1. Sounds like they are being overly conservative or your hospital is refusing to give up the medical records.

I would just take the business to another company.  You will probably be able to find a more competitive rate through an online term insurance quote site or an independent agent that can quote multiple companies.

  2. Yes they can.  If they're trying to look into something and the records aren't available they're not going to accept that.  BUT, it doesn't mean another insurance company will request the same records.  Make sure you deal with a broker on your next attempt.  And use the tool on my site to make sure the company is competitive.  It requires no personal information to use and will give you rates from ~150 companies.

  3. The answers vary by person. It would be a good idea to hear several of them and see the differences. Here is a good one.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  4. Different companies have different requirements, so even though this company may want this info, not everyone will.  You can find a bunch of companies offering insurance in your area by visiting some sites like InsureMe.com or Insurance-Rates-Online.com.

Were you applying for life insurance, or for health insurance?  Usually companies are more interested in things like births when selling health insurance policies.

  5. A life company can refuse to underwrite you if they don't have the required information in order to make an underwriting decision. Chances are they probably waited on the medical records to come through (you would have signed a release of health information at the time of application, otherwise you would have been denied outright for refusing to release the info ... the Catch 22 w/ life insurance) and they didn't get the records, so they denied it based upon that.
