  1. Gordon Ramsay holdings now has quite a collection of restaurants:  Royal Hospital Road, Claridges, Menu at Connaught (about to close for refurbishment), Petrus, the Savoy Grill, La Noisette and the Boxwood Cafe.

Clearly the best of these is Royal Hospital Road, where Gordon nominally cooks (and he has certainly been there on my last two visits).  This has three Michelin stars, the only place with this accolade in London, and it is very good indeed.  Moreover the price is less than you might think: £80 buys you a three course meal, and included in this are nibbles and a pre-dessert.  Last time I went there were seven wines under £20 on the wine list, so in principle you could get out for about £100 a head, though in practice it will be more if you go for a better wine.  The point is that this is virtually the same price as Claridges, Connaught etc - just a few pounds more for the food and yet the cooking is clearly better.

The main issue is getting a reservation.  They book two claendar months ahead and the booking lines open at 09:00.  Ring at exactly 09:00 if you want to get a table for dinner (lunch is a little easier).  Enjoy!  You can read a detailed review of his restaurant (and the others) on my web site below.

  2. Gordon Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road is the one to go to. Food is exceptional and the service is the best I have come across in any restaurant - the best restaurant in London and one of the best anywhere.

  3. I'd love that but not prepared to wait 2 hours to fill my rops ( if you aint from yorkshire u wont understand)
