  1. What you seek is Distance Education. One of the best sources of info on pure distance education schools can be found at www.detc.org. this is the accreditor specializing in such a delivery mechanism.

There are a number of for-profit schools that offer degree at a distance: kaplan, AIU, CTU, UoP etc, but you have to be careful of costs.. often the tuition is very high and you will need to take out loans (hard to come by these days)

Look into your local community colleges and the state system (for your state) and see what they offer.

  2. BAD idea...

Make sure what ever school you choose is Regionally Accredited! A nationally accredited degree will do you no good (and they are usually quite a bit more $$)

You also have very limited contact with instructors, if you need help you are usually on your own.

Generally once you start you are bound to a contract... in most cases iron clad!

Do your homework you'll be glad you did!
