Anyone done the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" Tour at Disneyland?

My husband and I have been to Disneyland dozens of times, read lots of books, gone to websites, etc. We are Annual Passholders as well, and while it's a long drive for us, we do go about three times a year (at least.)

This year, we're going to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary and I want to do something special. Is this tour pretty cool? We both love Walt and all the things he did, but especially Disneyland. Would this be a nice gift for my husband? Let's hope he doesn't read this!

  1. id highly recomend it,

i gave the tour last weekend!

  2. If you're a Disney fan then you'll love it!

When I went on the tour we actually got to go to Walt's apartment! Not all groups get to go in there so if you do you're very lucky.

The tour is very informative and our guide was filled with information.

We got to see many things you'll already know like the golden spike at the center of the park and the Disney family crest. But those spots were more interesting because of the information presented on the tour.

When I went we got to go to the Gallery, but that's the dream suite now, so I'm not sure how it ends currently but at the time we were served lunch in the Gallery.

The tour is well worth it. I highly recommend it.

  3. If you are interested in the history of Disneyland you and your husband will like the tour.  The guide will go into several aspects of the history of the park.  Some things you will probably already be aware of, but unless you are a super whiz you will also learn several new things.  As for lunch since the Disney Gallery is now the Dream Suite they moved the lunch to the the Guided Tour Gardens area where you start the tour.  Let's just say that the lunch was okay but defiantly not the highlight of the tour.  They had sandwiches and a couple of salads to select from when we took it.

If you have time or want another tour to choose from you may want to think about the "Cruzin' California Adventure" Tour.  This is where you are given instruction on riding a Segway and then get to take a guided tour of California Adventure before it opens on the Segways.  During the tour you get some history and trivia about California Adventure.

Since you are a Passholder be sure to mention that.  If you are a Deluxe or Premium passholder you get 20% off of the tour price.   If you decide to book either of these tours you definatly should book ahead of time as they are limited in the number of people and can fill up, especially on a busy day.  You can book it 30 days in advance by calling 714-781-4400.
