For example, these are the grades you made for first semester:English: 93Math: 95History: 86Science: 74So instead of a 3.2 GPA, you'd have a GPA of 87 which is very accurate and works great when determining class rank.4 point scales can be innacurate because whether you get straight 90s or straight 100s you still have the same GPA.
