Question:

Anyone else agree this will be Reggie Bush's breakout year?

I think he knows the pressure is on him now that Mcalister is still hurting and this is his 3rd year. There are no more excuses for him and I think he will finally break out and have a great year. I'm talking 1000 yard rusher and double digit touchdowns. He'll be a valuable weapon catching passes out of the backfield in screen situations. The Saints will bounce back and win the NFC south and are my pick to go to the Super Bowl. sorry but Dallas hasn't shown me anything and Wade Phillips isn't the right man for this job.

  1. how can he get 1000 yards rushing if he cant run up the middle???? hes a special player, but never an everydown back

  2. I think it is a little early to be making predictions like that.

  3. I don't think he can stay healthy enough to produce good numbers.

  4. now ive been sayin this for the last 2 months.....this is Reggie Bushs' year....ive been singin it so reggie better be bringin it......i think he will get that1100-1200 rush yds. and 400-600 rec. yds.  type of year....and like16-17 TDs....gonna be a great year for him and the saints, as i think the saints will go to the NFC championship game, but lose to Dallas.....and the cowboys make it to the superbowl, but lose to............the Jacksonville Jaguars!.........mark my words.......

  5. He is over rated! 1 thing he has is his moves other than nothing! Look at his stats in college and compare them with White they are almost the same. He might be a little better now that Shockey is there. He is not a 1000 yard rusher and yes he can catch the ball out of the backfield. As far as breakout year shouldn't have already been good? Everyone jocked him and he will never be a good running back in the NFL just move him to wide receiver and you might have something!

  6. I wouldn't be suprised. But he will never be a 20+ carrie back.

He needs another back to deliver some thunder to his LIghtning, if Duece stays healthy then he will be great 1800 total yards on the ground and the air. and 15+ TD

  7. No, simply because he isnt an every down player. He is not good at all at running down the middle, and even he knows now his speed can be his special weapon anymore since every position on the defence is normally filled with fast players aswell these days.

  8. It is Reggies year. Just wish I were a Saints fan, they are going to be tough to beat this year.

  9. I agree that this will definitely be his break out season the addition of Shockey and the return of McAllister are going to help him out tremendously. And his re-dedication to off-season training and his decision to stay in NO this off-season will only better prepare him for the season. BUT having said that you've set your expectations WAY too high for him. Following the pattern he was on in the past two seasons he'll probably finish the season with about 150 maybe 175 carries if they increase his load a little bit.

With that amount of carries to even reach the 1,000 yard mark he'll have to be averaging somewhere over 6 yards a carry for the entire season... which is extremely unlikely. Adrian Peterson who had the highest rushing average last year wasn't even at 6 yards a carry and he was running behind the best line in the NFL.

What you can expect from Reggie Bush is probably 150 carries for about 700+yds and then another 70-80 receptions with around 700yds. Also don't look for him to be a major touchdown threat rushing the ball they'll probably use Deuce for that so look for him to have like 8-9 rushing tds and another 7-8 receiving tds.

Look for Bush to definitely increase his numbers from last year as long as he stays healthy, remember he actually got injured in like week 10 so he was playing on a bad leg for about a third of the season. And at the very least if he's healthy he should put the numbers he did as a rookie... but don't expect him to be a 1000 yard rusher any time soon unless he starts getting a third more carries he's been getting.

  10. He's not the same runningback he was in college. His speed can't safe him in the NFL because everone has speed. He's not gonna have a breakout year. He's not even an every down back. Without Mcalister I think things get even worse for Bush.

  11. Everyone better watch out for my boy MARION BARBER! He is a punisher and now that Julius Jones is out of his way, he is our starting back! He will share a little time with Felix Jones but, Barber will show everyone up on the field! Just watch how my boy an last year!

  12. he cant break tackles and cant take a consistant beating he is an outside runner and he can make plays in the open field, he is overrated and i dont think he can ever be as good as the hype had him out to be. I agree with the cowboys statement though i dont see them as anything special and they are a team that is way overrated, 1 good season and that means they will reach the superbowl, that was a bit to fast to jump on their bandwagon.

  13. Reggie isn't an every down back and never has been.  Tiki and Dunn could actually run inside and liked to do it.  Reggie doesn't like to and cant do it when he tries.

  14. No.  Too small, not enough running between the tackles.

maybe if he was playing against Fresno State week after week but he will be an average NFL running back for the duration of his career.

  15. I think he would be much more useful as a wide reciever. He has some amzing hands for a running back, and they need a speed reciever to go opposite Colston. He will make Brees' numbers even better then last year.

  16. As much as I like Reggie Bush, he will never have a break out year. His best year is behind him which was his rookie year. I used to go to USC practices and watch him live when he was at SC. What people seem to forget, but I said this all along before he was in the NFL, and this is he wouldn't have been the Heisman winner if Lindale White wasn't in the same backfield with Reggie as the other off set runner. USC had a great one-two punch with both Reggie and Lindale which was too much for any college to handle. However, in the NFL its a horse of a different color.

Since his offense at NO runs a different offense than SC did, and since defensive players in the NFL are all pretty great, some better than others, Reggie Bush isn't a cut above the rest. He is stuck between being too small for a receiver and too light to be a 20 to 30 carry a game running back and he certainly cannot play defense as a DB because he cannot tackle.....so you have seen the best years of Reggie already go by. Further, don't forget that USC had a tremendous offensive line in front of Reggie for those junior and senior years of his and it was the most dominant offensive line in college football those two years.

  17. Nope, this year he gets  exposed even more as the total bust he is. Looks like the Texans knew what they were doing when they took Williams over Bush.

  18. Only if Kim Kardashian doesn't slow him down by becoming an anchor. But then again, that's not a bad anchor to have. LOL! If he doesn't fumble the ball as he done in the past, it could be a good year for Reggie (if it isn't already!).
