Question:

Anyone else can demagnetized the BART ticket?

Very often, after I bought the BART ticket, the magnet on the ticket got erased. I was told not to put it near my credit card or cell phone. I still demagnetized it. Is this weird? Do I really have power to make it disappear?

  1. Any device that has a magnet in it can demagnetize it (such as a purse clasp).  Supposedly they're making them harder to demagnetize.

  2. Get the EZrider for $45 and don't complicate your life with the usual BART tickets

  3. isn't that illegal????

  4. They're introducing a new plastic BART card that'll make paper tickets obsolete. Once you setup an account with BART, your plastic card will "recharge" automatically by taking money directly from a credit or debit account.

The card will also make it easier to go through a faregate. Rather than put it into the slot like a paper ticket, you'd simply pass it over a motion sensor.

They've been using this technology in Japan for years (in Tokyo it is called the SUICA). I'm glad somebody here finally figured out that this is both more easier for the customer and better for the environment. No more fumbling for change, demagnetized tickets, or lost tickets.

  5. I can demagnetized my BART ticket, but I won't demagnetized because that would defeated the purpose. MAXIMUM BART!!!

  6. my name is bart tee hee
