Anyone else disappointed with NBC's coverage of the olympics?

Way too much beach volleyball, and no coverage of other sports (wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, etc). A huge disappointment. I currently don't have cable, so I didn't have the luxury of watching the olympics on another channel.

  1. I have Direct TV and do have the option of watching other channels, however, even then I still do not get to see all of the events that I would like to see.  NBC is airing events which bring in good ratings and only the most popular events that Americans are participating in.

I would have loved to see rhythmic gymnastics and other events that did not have Americans qualify, but the powers that be at NBC seem to think us Americans only care about American gold medal events.  That is so not the case, at least not for this American.

I hope 2010 Winter and 2012 Summer Olympic coverage is better.  Lets hope Canadians and the UK provide great coverage.  Hint hint BBC!

  2. I am extremely disappointed.  The whole coverage comes across as so disjointed. There is no flow to the action even when events are being shown on a time delay basis.  NBC are very lucky that Phelps did what he  did. People are watching despite how bad the coverage is.  I am a British ex-pat (ok - so I now have no chance of best answer!!!!) and I am missing the BBC coverage so much (no commercials, much better commentators - heck they even have Michael Johnson and website coverage that is unbelievable!!).  Also, I am very surprised that NBC did not offer a subscription website where you could watch what you want when you want - they could have made even more money!

  3. The channels that broadcast the Olympics when NBC is not are pretty much more of the same. It always seems like they are showing Volleyball, Gymnastics, or Swimming.

And events like diving would be aired a few hours late so they were in prime time instead of live. I had to stay up past 12 or wake up at 6 to catch any of the softball games I wanted to see.

  4. i disappointed in telemundo's coverage.

  5. hey mate u are correct but I use http://tvchannels2pc.com I get access to about 3000 channels with live games, movies, tv shows and more cool stuff! and i watch all the Olympics games online live in a high quality stream, even this site provides schedule.

  6. mind you i love watching volleball, but i definiltey would have like to seen other 'lesser" popular sports played instead of the same one over and over...

  7. I found myself quite disappointed with it too. We do have digital cable and even the other channels didn't seem to broadcast the less popular sports :(

  8. yesss! i'm so mad. we could have watched everything else but they are getting paid for ads because they know a lot of people are watching the olympics so people are paying a lot to get their ads played during the time. but it really stinks because that means they have to cut off parts of it and they don't show everything. grrr!
