Anyone else down about Phelps leaving?

Didn't he say this was his last time competing in the olympic games?

The US team really needs him. When the olympics are in London, nobody will watch from home. Now that swimming is over, it won't be fun to watch the other competitions that are still on. I know it's probably so that he can uphold his legend, but America needs Michael Phelps to compete for us. He has become a national hero.

Do you feel the same way? Is it really true that he's done competing in the summer games?

Anyways, there's no way he is because it'd be ALL OVER the news if he was. You're right, the US team does need him. I'm not really watching the Olympics any more. I watched the marathon for like 2 hours just so I wouldn't miss the swimming. I probably won't really watch the Olympics any more unless I'm really bored.

i dont know anymore.

he wants to go home and spend time with his family. although the us team will be nothing without him, i understand why he wants to go home for good.

he has nothing left to prove! he is the greatest at all of his events, and he is the most accomplished swimmer there is. going to 2012 would be nice, but i dont think he has too. hes peaked, you dont get any better than what he is now, we dont want to see anything devistating from him like we did from amanda beard, it would ruin the respect american's and swimmers have for him.

I'm a straight guy so I'm not loving him.  He WILL be in the 2012 london olympics, just not 8 for 8 golds.
