ok so im 18 next tuesday and im taking my driving test for my license. im kinda nervous because ive never had a permit and taught myself how to drive. my parents bought me a car for christmas so i started taking it out for drive while they were at work (i know its illegal) but i had to learn because they didn't want to teach me over the last year ive been paying a lot of attention to my parents and everyone who drives me places watching their every move to learn more. in the past months ive traveled over 40minutes away from my house to my boyfriends several times so here it is over a year and half of driving i think im able to pass and i know how to parallel park. the only thing is for some reason im more comfortable driving alone rather than with other people in the car especially adults they make me nervous and i tense up (my shoulders especially). i drive better alone. anyone else feel like that? can anyone offer me me advice about studying and passing the test and ways to become more comfortable about driving with others? thanks alot

  1. I like driving alone because People think that they know what is the best thing to do when they are really just being annoying and they might distract you or make thing worst

  2. I've had my permit since March, but we live out in the country so if I just have to go up the neighbors or something like that my parents don't go with me and I think it's easier too. I feel more pressure when my parents are with me. Try getting some of your friends to go driving with you, you probably won't feel as much pressure if it's your best friend. Just keep practicing too =) Good luck on your test!

  3. I find it hard to drive with people too! I just got my licence a little over 2 months ago. I just tried to pretend like it was only me in the car. My driver examiner only told me where to go, otherwise we didn't have to talk. Just relax.

    Good luck on your test!

  4. Just practice with others,

  5. In my state, you're supposed to have at least 60 hours of practice driving with someone 21+ before you can get your license, but i had less than 10, because I was the same way as you. I could barely breathe during my test, but i passed it my 2nd time (the first time SO didn't even count ;]) now that i have my license, i just have my boyfriend teach me, since i'm a lot more comfortable with him than my parents. he's had a lot more experience with driving. it's not really that hard once i got the hang of it. i make a few mistakes here and there, but i've never been in an accident, and i've never been pulled over. just make sure you follow all the laws, and don't drive during rush hour. stay safe
