Anyone else ever heard this?

Question

I wasn't worried, but I've always thought it was weird. I've been around horses for 20+ years and have never heard one burp. I think it's kind of funny really. My farrier laughs her a@# off whenever she is working on him.

Lol, I don't think it's really burping you hear. Horses can't burp, as far as I know. I have heard my horse make a "burping" kind of noise, but it really wasn't a burp. I've heard some really strange noises come from my horse, so who knows what it could be.. lol

My Tennessee Walker burps all the time, and she doesn't do any of that stuff either. I dont think its anything to worry about! The vet said it was no big deal!

i'm not sure if it is burping, but an appy at my barn makes little grunting sounds sometimes that are very unusual

I've had horses do that too, but it was a warmblood, I think. I wondered the same thing!

doesn't it freak you out when they do that! Its fine girl... lol!

I had a TB that did that two when you washed his face. It was so weird. My trainer thought he might have picked it up at the track.

I would think that if they could vomit, they could burp, and they can't vomit.  I never, never heard a horse burp, doesn't mean that that they can't.  I have been around horses for over 60 yrs, and have never heard a horse burp...doesn't mean that they can't, but it seems unreasonable to me..
