Anyone else fed up with the media?

I swear the politics, sports, entertainment, etc. it's just ridiculous. Every little stupid thing Obama and Hilary did was all over the news. Even their meeting last week at Feinsteins place. All these "analyst" making hopeless guesses at what was being said. Than today I see an article about whether or not the Lakers/Celtics series has lived up to the hype. The same hype that same writer helped create. It's so crazy. I can't stand to see the news or read anything any more. Was it always like this or am I only opening my eyes as I get older? (Sorry, this was more of a rant than an actual question.)

Yes, especially with the Daily Mail's regular 'Immigrants are letting off Atomic Bombs along with the EU to destroy Britain in a Communist plot' every Monday, now they've got bored with their Diana conspiracies.

No apology necessary.  Media have transformed themselves into something other than news.  News is more like entertainment than fact and true reporting.

Media are ratings driven and broadcast any and all things that people will respond to, true or not.  

I hope for a separation of news and entertainment so that people truly interested in news can make judgments for themselves.

Rant on, my friend.........I am so tired of it...........like so much trivial stuff.........anything to fill up time and space on the networks.  Guessing and postulating, forecasting......blah, blah, blah...........yikes !   Any intelligent person will be turned off by so much rhetoric.....insincere, people pleasing, lying, twisting things to sway people's opinions...........oi vay !!   I think we have much better things to do than continually fill our minds with all this 'stuff'.

No no no, dont apologize. You have every right to feel this way. You are not the only person who thinks this. I have decided not to vote this election because the media has chosen for us. "Breaking News" is usually something like "Britney Spears gains custody!" I'm tired of that c**p. KUDOS to Maria Shriver for quitting her network due to the overwhelming celebrity news takeover, Love her for that. I really can't stand to watch  the news either, its the same old c**p day in day out, gas prices, obama, mccain, tornadoes, celebrities, murder, rape, etc.....if you wanna be depressed, turn on the news. never have anything good to say. Its sad, disgusting, pathetic. You arent the only one "ranting"!!! STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF!

I feel the same. In Ireland especially about the national radio, RTE. I've given up on most newspapers and on TV a long time ago. The relevant facts about what happens in the world are kept to a minimum, and the private lives of so-called "celebrities" (mostly people who are famous for being famous) take up ever more of the time. In Ireland we are also regaled with totally uninteresting court cases.

I've become a regular watcher of Al Jazeera. Although there are an awful lot of sob stories about the Palestinians, I still find it's the best station at the moment.

I AM SO FED UP WITH THE BS ON EVERYTHING TODAY PRETTY MUCH PISSED ME OFF ,THE NEWS ABOUT THE TORNADO AND THE BOY SCOUNTS THERE ATTEMPTS (MEDIA) TO KEEP SAYING SOME ONE IS AT FAULT .I MEAN THESE PPL ALREADY HAD THERE WORSE FEARS COME TRUE AND TO LISTEN TO THE BS IS OUT RAGEOUS .IT WAS AN ACT OF NATURE .HERE WE GO OUT OF OUR WAY TOHELP THOSE PPL THAT JUST HAD THAT BAD STORM IN MIRMIA ? BUT YET INSTEAD OF CONSOLING THESE PPL WE POINT THE FINGER AT THEM .GEE I WONDER WHAT IDIOT MADE THE STORM FOR THEM IN THAT COUNTRY.AND THEN BAND US FROM HELPING THEM FOR A WHILE OMG I HATE THE NEWS .IM SICK OF OBAMA AND EVERYTHING HE MAY BE PRES SOON BUT GOD HAS THE UPPER HAND .
